Strengthening Connectivity Along the Konkan Coast
The Agardanda-Dighi Creek Bridge Project is a significant coastal infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing transportation connectivity along the Revas-Redi Coastal Highway (MSH-04) in Maharashtra. The project involves the construction of a two-lane bridge across Agardanda Creek, connecting Agardanda in Murud Taluka with Dighi in Shrivardhan Taluka, thereby creating a direct and efficient transport link between the two coastal regions.
SMEC, in association with Fortress Infracon Limited, has been appointed as the Authority’s Engineer to support the successful implementation of the project under EPC mode. The assignment encompasses comprehensive engineering and project management services, including design review, construction supervision, contract administration, quality assurance, safety management, environmental compliance, progress monitoring, and stakeholder coordination.
Working closely with the client, contractors, designers and relevant authorities, we support the coordinated delivery of the bridge while monitoring technical, contractual, quality and safety requirements throughout construction. Structured monitoring and governance also support effective decision-making and proactive management of project risks.
Once completed, the bridge will strengthen connectivity between the two coastal regions, enabling more direct movement of people and goods. It will also improve accessibility along the Konkan coast and support tourism and regional economic activity.
