SJ and A*STAR ISCE² forge partnership to advance low-carbon technologies

Singapore, 24 November 25 – SJ Group and the Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE²) of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate the development and commercialisation of low-carbon technologies.

This strategic partnership establishes a collaborative framework that combines ISCE²’s expertise in research on innovative low-carbon solutions with SJ Group’s engineering and project management capabilities.

Under the MOU, ISCE² will identify and develop novel low carbon technologies with strong potential for commercial deployment, while SJ will contribute its technical expertise to enable successful scale-up of these technologies for real-world application. Both organisations will also engage local and international partners to pilot and advance these solutions at A*Star’s upcoming Low-Carbon Technology Translational Testbed (LCT³) facility on Jurong Island.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to driving sustainability through innovation, research and partnerships. By leveraging complementary strengths, the strategic alliance between ISCE² and SJ aim to accelerate impactful low-carbon solutions, positioning Singapore at the forefront of green innovation for a more sustainable future.

The MOU was signed by Professor Reginald Tan, Executive Director, Science & Engineering Research Council, A*STAR and covering Executive Director, ISCE² and Mr Tan Wooi Leong, Senior Executive Director, Energy, SJ and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Gan Kim Yong.
