Geneo

Geneo is a life sciences and business innovation hub at Singapore Science Park, integrating purpose-built laboratories, flexible workplaces and vibrant community spaces within a dynamic live-work-play environment. As Delivery Architect, SJ Group led the delivery of No. 1 & 7 Science Park Drive while seamlessly integrating accessibility, placemaking and user experience throughout the precinct. The development also incorporates solar energy and high-performance building systems, achieving over 31% energy savings across Buildings 1, 1A and 1B, and over 41% at 7 Science Park Drive.

Punggol Point Cove

Delivered through SJ’s multidisciplinary expertise across Architecture, Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Landscape Architecture and Water Management, Punggol Point Cove reimagines waterfront living through a coastal neighbourhood inspired by Punggol’s maritime heritage. Wave-like architecture, interconnected sky gardens and a network of green spaces create a highly liveable environment that maximises views, natural ventilation and connections to the waterfront while fostering community interaction and belonging.

Woodlands Hospital

Woodlands Hospital brings acute, community and long-term care together within a single integrated facility. Designed by SAA Architects, part of SJ Group, it is the first hospital in Singapore with dedicated parkland integrated into the campus, creating restorative environments that support patient healing, staff wellbeing and social interaction. The project shifts the model of care beyond the traditional hospital setting to a system-wide approach in partnership with the community.

Temasek Polytechnic

Transforming campus operations through smart facilities management–SJ supported Temasek Polytechnic in developing an integrated digital platform that connects building systems, IoT sensors, energy data and asset information across its 30-hectare campus. The solution enables real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance and data-driven decision-making, helping optimise operations, improve energy performance and support the campus’ transition towards more sustainable, intelligent facilities management.

Gardens by the Bay

Reimagining the urban garden for the world–One of Singapore’s most iconic destinations, Gardens by the Bay has transformed the city’s waterfront into a world-renowned horticultural and leisure attraction. Combining striking architecture, advanced environmental engineering and immersive visitor experiences, the development showcases innovative approaches to cooling, energy efficiency and climate-responsive design. Through its involvement in the project, SJ contributed engineering expertise that helped bring this landmark vision to life, creating a globally recognised destination that reinforces Singapore’s reputation as a city in nature.

Singapore Downtown Line

Moving people, connecting places–Supporting the expansion of Singapore’s mass transit network, SJ teams contributed to the design of complex underground rail infrastructure, including bored tunnels and associated works. This project enhances urban connectivity while addressing dense ground conditions and operational constraints. SAA Architects, an SJ company, also designed several Downtown Line stations, including Bukit Panjang, Newton Interchange, and Promenade Interchange – each offering a distinct architectural response to its surrounding estate and urban context.

Pulau Tekong Reclamation Project

Protecting Singapore’s future coastline–SJ is supporting the delivery of Singapore’s first polder development at Pulau Tekong, supporting climate resilience and adaptation to rising sea levels. The project applies innovative coastal engineering solutions to create new land while reducing reliance on sand reclamation and enhancing long-term flood protection.

Subsea Cabling

A Crucial Step in Singapore’s Energy Transition Journey–As Singapore accelerates its clean energy transition, SJ provided project management, technical design, stakeholder coordination and marine survey support for one of the nation’s first subsea renewable energy transmission projects,enabling the import of renewable energy from across the region, helping improve energy security and diversify power supply sources.

Tuas Port

Reclaiming land for Singapore’s largest port–As Singapore accelerates its clean energy transition, SJ provided project management, technical design, stakeholder coordination and marine survey support for one of the nation’s first subsea renewable energy transmission projects,enabling the import of renewable energy from across the region, helping improve energy security and diversify power supply sources.

5G Command Centre

AETOS’s next-generation 5G Integrated Command Centre, powered by the Aquila-X platform, reimagines how critical systems are monitored and managed – merging AI, IoT and digital twin technology into a cohesive platform for real-time insight, safety and operational efficiency.

Town Councils

SJ’s digital intelligence platform supports 17 Town Councils, connecting 10,000 blocks, 26,800 lifts, 24,000 CCTV cameras and 4 million smart lights across Singapore’s public housing estates. By integrating data from critical assets, smart sensors, operational systems and resident-facing services into a single platform, it enables smarter facilities management and more liveable estates at scale, islandwide.

IOI Central Boulevard Towers

IOI Central Boulevard Towers is a landmark mixed-use development in Singapore’s Marina Bay district. As Civil and Structural Engineer, SJ Group unlocked the potential of a highly constrained site occupied by critical underground infrastructure, enabling a high-value development with enhanced public spaces and pedestrian movement. Innovative solutions, including long-span transfer trusses, a dual-function Secant Bored Pile system and Singapore’s first application of the Observational Method for Earth Retaining and Stabilising Structures (ERSS), improved construction efficiency, safeguarded surrounding infrastructure and reduced embodied carbon.

Alfred Fox

Chief Executive, Integrated Solutions

Alfred Fox

Mr. Alfred Fox is Chief Executive, Integrated Solutions, SJ Group’s unified smart facility management, security advisory and operations business in Singapore and overseas markets. Alfred leads a multidisciplinary team of security, engineering, data scientists and operational technology specialists to safeguard clients' assets and build insights into our future. By unifying operations and technology in the digital space, the team aims to unlock new possibilities and transform portfolio performance throughout the entire asset life cycle.

Before assuming his current position, Alfred served as the Group’s Chief People and Culture Officer, overseeing employee engagement, culture development, talent acquisition, development and retention, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as optimisation of HR systems. During his time as CEO at AETOS, an SJ company, he cultivated a high-performing organisational culture and led initiatives for talent development across a workforce of 5,000 employees.
Before joining SJ in 2019, Alfred held several key positions in Singapore’s Ministry of Defence. Among these roles was as a Division Commander in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), responsible for maintaining a high level of operational readiness by building ready and capable units for the Army. During that time, he was also the Chairman of the 2018 Singapore National Day Parade Executive Committee.

Between 2012 and 2016, Alfred was the Assistant Chief of General Staff (Personnel) for the Army and concurrent Non-Resident Defence Attache (NRDA) to Cambodia. As NRDA, he deepened the defence relations between the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the SAF. He was also part of the founding team of the Future Systems Directorate at Singapore’s Ministry of Defence, which looked at conceptualising warfighting concepts through close ops-tech integration. Deployed to Afghanistan in 2008, he was the first National Liaison Officer in Kabul and concurrently worked with NATO/ISAF, the Afghan National Army and the Pakistan Military to build border control centres along the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Alfred is a recipient of the Public Service Administration Medal (Silver) Military, the NATO-ISAF Overseas Service Medal and the Long Service Medal (Military). He is also a member of the ACCORD (Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence) Employer & Business Council.

He holds a B.A from the National University of Singapore and a Masters in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Harvard School of Government.

Aaron Foong

Aaron Foong

Aaron is a strong advocate for technology adoption in buildable and productive design, championing a collaborative, cross‑disciplinary approach that draws on SJ’s diverse expertise to deliver intelligent and practical outcomes. Known for his pragmatic leadership style, he brings clarity and purpose to each project, balancing economy, constructability and aesthetics.

He oversees SJ’s property sector globally, comprising Civil and Structural engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Sustainability and Environmental Design (ED), providing integrated leadership across complex, technically demanding and sustainability-critical developments.

He has led a wide range of urban and infrastructure projects, including landmark adaptive reuse and sustainability-driven developments across multiple sectors. His portfolio includes Punggol Digital District, One Holland Village, One Pearl Bank, Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Phase 2, Maxwell Chamber Suites, SJ Campus and Oasia Downtown Hotel.

Under his leadership, the projects have also received multiple international honours including the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards of Excellence, ULI Awards for Excellence and FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards reflecting a consistent focus on sustainability, innovation and safety-led engineering. Aaron’s work has also been consistently recognised by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) through the Design Excellence and Safety Engineering Award (DESA).

A trusted advisor in the built environment sector, Aaron serves as First Vice President of the Singapore Green Building Council and is a member of the BCA Productivity Gateway Advisory Panel, as well as several technical advisory panels for public agencies. He is a Professional Engineer and Accredited Checker (Singapore), a Chartered Engineer (UK), and a Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, UK.

Low Cher Ek

Senior Executive Director, Urban

Low Cher Ek

Mr LOW Cher Ek joined the Group when it was formed in 2015 and was part of the senior management of Surbana prior to the merger of Surbana and Jurong.

He is the Senior Executive Director for the Urban Sector under the Group’s Buildings + Cities business line. The global market focus of this Sector include private and public residences, mass accommodation, master planning, urban design and land development and he is responsible for the management and growth of the Sector, leveraging on the Sector’s USP to deliver multi-disciplinary services offering. The Urban Sector comprises the Architecture + Design (A+D), Planning, Township and Project & Construction Management (PCM) divisions, with Cher Ek continuing to lead the Architecture + Design division.

Cher Ek is an Architect by training and has more than 30 years of experience in real estate planning, design and project execution. He was involved in the development of numerous Township in Singapore and established SJ as a key consultant for HDB in their internally acclaimed public housing programme. He also led the export of SJ’s housing expertise in China, Myanmar, Indonesia, India and Africa. In addition to his expertise in housing, he was also Surbana’s Director of Architecture and Managing Director of the building consultancy business, overseeing Surbana’s engineering, QS practices and was involved in a variety of urban development initiatives including institution, industrial and commercial projects. Before joining Surbana, Cher Ek was with HDB and held senior positions in planning, design and construction. He was also involved in policy planning and implementation of HDB’s estate renewal programme. His other field of involvement include design digitalization and adoption of building information modelling (BIM).

Cher Ek holds an honors degree in Architecture from NUS and is a registered Architect with Singapore’s Board of Architects. He is a member of Singapore Institute of Architects and previously served as member of Singapore Institute of City Planners accreditation Panel and as an advisory member of Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Academy. He had also co-chaired the Integrated Digital Delivery Workgroup under Singapore’s Construction Transformation Roadmap initiative.
